Feelings check-in for high school students
Use this feelings check-in at the start or end of any class period to help teens reflect and let you know how they’re doing. Students can respond on their own devices, see calming strategies, and track what to do next.
The class will see a visual timer, a checklist of steps, a quick feelings poll they answer on their phones, and calming tips all on one clear screen. You can add a background and stickers to set the right mood.
Free for teachers. Your screens, classes and uploads are saved to your account.
How to use it in class
- 1Project the screen and choose a background that fits your class mood.
- 2Set the visual timer for the check-in time you want.
- 3Ask students to scan the QR code and answer the feelings exit ticket on their devices.
- 4Guide students to read the calming strategies and tick off the checklist steps as needed.
- 5Use the responses to start a brief discussion or adjust your next steps.
Why it works

Tips
- Let students know their answers are private and not graded.
- Adjust the timer based on your class’s pace—some groups need more time.
- Invite students to suggest calming strategies that work for them.
Make it your own
- Use for advisory, SEL, or after tests in any subject.
- Adapt for remote or hybrid by sharing your screen and using chat for responses.
- Add visual supports or audio instructions for students with IEPs.
Questions teachers ask
How do I make sure students answer honestly?
Remind students their responses are private and not tied to grades. Set a tone of respect and keep the check-in brief and regular.
Can I edit the checklist or calming strategies?
Yes, you can type your own steps and strategies right on the screen. Adjust them to fit your students’ needs or the day’s focus.
What if some students don’t have devices?
You can let students respond by raising hands, using sticky notes, or sharing aloud. The screen works for both digital and low-tech check-ins.
