Terms of service
The terms for using Edform: your account, your content, acceptable use, AI tools, paid plans, and Edform provided as is.
Last updated: October 14, 2026
The short version
- Use Edform to teach and learn, and treat students and other users with respect.
- What you create stays yours. You give us only the rights we need to run Edform for you.
- Edform is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running and your work safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
- Basic is free. Paid plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time.
- You can stop using Edform and delete your account whenever you like.
Agreeing to these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Edform ("Edform", "we", "us") about your use of edform.com, the Edform apps and related services (together, "Edform"). By creating an account or using Edform, you accept these terms and our Privacy policy.
- Using Edform for a school or organization: you accept these terms for it too, and you confirm you're allowed to.
- Students: students use Edform under their school's agreement, or with a parent's or guardian's permission. A student under 18, or under the age of majority where they live, may use Edform only that way.
Your account
- Keep your details accurate: give true information and keep your password private.
- You're responsible for your account: for everything done with it. Tell us right away at support@edform.com if you think someone else is using it.
- One account per person: sharing logins isn't allowed.
- Student logins you create: teachers who create them are responsible for handing them out safely, and for resetting or deleting them when needed.
Using Edform with students
If you use Edform with students, you confirm that:
- your school, or the student's parent or guardian, allows it;
- any notice or consent that the law or your school requires has been given, for example parental consent under COPPA, which a school may give for school use;
- you will add only the student information that teaching needs. For guests and young children, a first name or nickname is enough;
- you will use what students submit only for educational purposes.
For school data, we act on the school's instructions, as described in our Privacy policy and on our Student privacy page. Schools can request a data processing agreement at support@edform.com. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement wins for school data.
Your content
"Your content" is what you put into Edform: materials, questions, uploads, answers, comments and class information.
- Ownership: you keep all rights to your content.
- What you let us do with it: you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, to resize images or convert files) and transmit it. We use this licence only to run Edform for you and the people you share with. It ends when you delete the content, apart from copies others made from what you published and backups that expire.
- Publishing to the public library: anyone can see your material, and other Edform users can copy, adapt and use it in their teaching, inside and outside Edform. You can unpublish any time. Copies already made remain.
- Your responsibility: you confirm that you have the right to upload and share your content, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights, such as copyright or privacy.
- Copyright complaints: if you think something on Edform infringes your rights, write to support@edform.com with the link and details, and we will act promptly.
Acceptable use
Don't use Edform to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- post anything harmful to children, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or otherwise unsuitable for school;
- collect students' or other users' personal data for anything other than teaching, or use Edform to advertise to students;
- upload malware, or try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren't yours;
- test Edform's security without our written permission. Responsible reports to support@edform.com are welcome;
- overload Edform, scrape it, or get around its limits, for example by creating accounts in bulk;
- copy Edform's software or design to build a competing service;
- impersonate someone, or mislead people about who you are.
What we may do: remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where it's reasonable, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.
AI tools
AI tools help teachers draft materials, and their output can be wrong, biased or unsuitable.
- Check before using: review and edit anything AI creates before you use it with students. You're responsible for how you use it.
- Keep prompts free of personal details: don't enter sensitive or personal information about students. Where needed, use first names or initials.
- Safety checks: prompts and results go through a moderation check, and we may block requests that break these terms.
- Fair-use limits: AI tools have them, and some may count against the AI points of your plan.
- Ownership: you own what AI creates for you, to the extent the law allows anyone to own it.
Other services
Some features work with services we don't run, such as:
- Google sign-in;
- YouTube and Vimeo videos;
- web pages that teachers embed;
- Stripe payments.
Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them. We aren't responsible for those services, and they may change or stop without notice.
Plans and payments
Basic is free. Pro and school plans are paid subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe.
- Renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel any time in Plan and billing; your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Prices: shown before you pay, plus any taxes. If we change a price, we will tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
- Refunds: except where the law requires otherwise, payments aren't refundable for partly used periods. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you agree that the service starts right away. You may lose your right of withdrawal once it starts, as the law allows.
- Schools: they pay for seats and can reassign them between teachers. Invoices and tax details come from Stripe.
- Changes to features: what each plan includes may change. If a change takes away something you paid for, you can cancel and get a pro-rated refund for the rest of the period.
Edform is provided “as is”
We build Edform with care, but software and the internet are never perfect.
Edform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, as far as the law allows. We don't promise that Edform will:
- be available without interruption, on time, or free of errors;
- meet every need, or work with every device, network or school system;
- grade, score or generate content correctly in every case. Teachers stay responsible for grades and decisions about students;
- keep any particular feature, integration or content. We may change, pause or remove features.
Keep your own copies of anything important. Download your data from Settings, and export rosters and results from the class and results pages.
This doesn't limit warranties or rights that the law says can't be excluded, such as consumer guarantees in your country.
Limits of our liability
As far as the law allows:
- No indirect losses: we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. That includes lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, even if we were told they were possible.
- A cap on everything else: our total liability for all claims about Edform is limited to whichever is more: (a) what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) 50 US dollars.
These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Consumers keep any rights the law gives them that can't be waived.
Your responsibility to us
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content, or because you broke these terms or the law, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim, as far as the law allows. This doesn't apply to consumers where the law doesn't allow it.
Ending your use
You can stop any time:
- Delete your account in Settings → Delete your account.
- If you're on a paid plan, cancel it first.
We may suspend or close an account:
- if it breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or the law requires it;
- if a school asks us to, for a student login it manages.
If we stop offering Edform: we will give at least 60 days' notice, so you can download your data.
What still applies afterwards: the parts of these terms that by their nature should, such as ownership, "as is", limits of liability and governing law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Edform changes.
- Important changes: we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect, unless the change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons.
- If you don't agree: stop using Edform and delete your account before the change takes effect.
- If you keep using Edform: you accept the new terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where Edform is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
- Talk to us first: before starting a formal dispute, contact us at support@edform.com, and we will try to settle it informally within 30 days.
- Consumers: if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.
Other things
- Whole agreement: these terms, our Privacy policy and any signed agreement with your school are the whole agreement between you and us about Edform.
- If part doesn't hold: if a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing isn't waiving: if we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Transfers: you can't transfer these terms to someone else without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger or sale, if your rights stay the same.
- Language: if these terms are translated, the English version decides.
