What makes good vocabulary practice?

Students learn a word by meeting it many times in different ways: recognising it, matching it to its meaning, then producing it and spelling it. In Edform you write the words once as a quiz — a definition, picture or translation as the question and the word as the answer — and use that one list everywhere: guess the word, anagram, missing letters, crossword and word search for spelling; match up, memory and bingo for meaning; flashcards to revise together; printable sheets for days without devices. Every online answer is graded, so the report shows which words the class still doesn't know.

How to set up a week of vocabulary practice

  1. 1

    Write the list once

Make a quiz with one short-answer question per word, or ask AI to write a vocabulary story and quiz from your list.

  2. 2

    Change the activity each day

Flashcards on Monday, match up on Tuesday, guess the word on Wednesday, crossword on Thursday.

  3. 3

    Check and recycle

The report shows the words most students missed. Put them in next week's list.
