Review game for grades 3–5

Use this review game template when you want to check what students remember at the end of a lesson or before a test. The class sees a fun screen with team games, a timer, a scoreboard, and a word guessing challenge.

Each widget helps keep everyone involved. Students can play as teams, answer questions, and see their names picked fairly, making review time active and fair.

Free for teachers. Your screens, classes and uploads are saved to your account.

How to use it in class

  1. 1Sign in and open the review game template.
  2. 2Add your class list to the name picker.
  3. 3Project the screen and explain the rules for tic-tac-toe and the word game.
  4. 4Divide the class into two teams and start the first game.
  5. 5Use the timer for each turn and update the scoreboard after each round.
  6. 6Pick students with the name picker to answer questions or guess letters.

Why it works

  • Team games help students practice working together and sharing ideas.
  • The random name picker encourages everyone to participate, not just volunteers.
  • Timers and scoreboards keep students focused and make review feel like a fun challenge.

Tips

  • For this age, keep questions clear and short.
  • Let students help read clues or keep score to build ownership.
  • Use the timer to keep turns moving and avoid long waits.

Make it your own

  • Change the questions for math, science, or social studies review.
  • Use in remote or hybrid classes by sharing your screen in a video call.
  • Adjust the word game for students learning English or with reading needs.

Questions teachers ask

How do I add my own questions?

Click on each tic-tac-toe square to type in your own questions before class. You can save the screen set for next time.

Can I use this with more than two teams?

The tic-tac-toe game works best with two teams, but you can rotate groups or have students play in pairs for smaller groups.

What if a student doesn’t want their name picked?

You can edit the class roster before starting or skip a student if needed. Encourage everyone to try, but respect their comfort level.
