A memory game maker turns your own word pairs into the classic card-matching game. Type one pair per line — a word and its translation, a question and its answer, a term and its definition — or a single word to get two identical cards. The cards are shuffled face down on the board; students take turns flipping two at a time and keep the pair when the cards match. Play as one class or in 2–4 teams with a score for each team, and start a new shuffled game whenever you like. Prefer paper? Print the cards, cut them out and play at the tables. Everything runs in your browser.
How to use it
- 1Type your pairs, one per line, as “word — its match”.
- 2Choose whole class or 2–4 teams and press New game.
- 3Flip two cards at a time on the board, or print the cards to cut out.
Ideas for your classroom
- Practise vocabulary with words and their translations.
- Match terms and definitions before a science or history test.
- Review number facts: a sum on one card, the answer on the other.
- Print the cards for a quiet station-rotation activity.

Is the memory game maker free? Do I need an account?
It’s free and needs no account. Your pairs stay in your browser.
How many cards can I have?
Up to 18 pairs (36 cards). For younger students, 6–8 pairs is a good start.
Can the two cards of a pair be different?
Yes. Write “word — its match”: one card shows the word, the other its match, for example a picture word and its translation or a sum and its answer.
Can I print the memory cards?
Yes. Press “Print the cards” to get a sheet of cards with cut lines, or save it as a PDF.
How do teams work?
Teams take turns. A team that finds a pair scores a point and goes again; a miss passes the turn to the next team.
