Tic-tac-toe

The tic-tac-toe widget lets you play the classic game with your class, right on your projector or interactive whiteboard. Two teams take turns choosing a square, trying to get three in a row—just like the paper version, but everyone can see and join in.

You can add your own questions behind each square, so students answer before claiming it. Teachers use this interactive game for review, brain breaks, or to spark friendly competition during lessons. It’s easy to set up and gets everyone involved.

Ways teachers use it

  • Warm up your class with a quick game before starting a lesson.
  • Use it for vocabulary or math review by adding questions to each square.
  • Turn it into a brain break during longer blocks to reset student focus.
  • Make it a fun exit ticket at the end of class to check understanding.
  • Engage small groups or your whole class for team-building activities.

How to set it up

  1. 1Sign in to your Edform teacher account.
  2. 2Open or create a classroom screen for your lesson.
  3. 3Click 'Add widget' and select 'Tic-tac-toe' from the games section.
  4. 4Choose if you want to add questions behind each square. Type in your questions if needed.
  5. 5Divide your class into two teams and project the screen so everyone can see it.

Tips

  • Write review questions that match your lesson topic if you want extra learning.
  • Use the game as a quick check-in or exit ticket at the end of class.
  • Let different students be the team spokesperson to keep everyone engaged.
  • Mix up teams each time to build classroom community.
