What is a no-device classroom?

A no-device classroom has one teacher computer and a projector or board, but no laptops, tablets or phones for students. Edform has several ways to keep that classroom interactive. The team game splits the class into 2 to 6 teams that take turns on one screen with tiles, chests, a wheel or Connect Four. Lessons can be shown on the board with the answers revealed together, and polls can count raised hands in the room. With a few devices, groups share one, and any quiz prints as a worksheet, crossword or cards with an answer key.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Edform if my students have no devices?

Yes. You only need one computer connected to a projector or board. Play the team game, show lessons on the board, use polls in the room and print any quiz.

How does the team game work?

Choose 2–6 teams and a board such as tiles, chests, a wheel, Connect Four or tic-tac-toe. Teams take turns answering a question, and right answers win points or surprises.

What if I have a few tablets?

Choose “Groups on one device”. Each group types a group name and their names, answers together, and the result belongs to the whole group.

What can I print?

Any quiz as a worksheet with an answer key, a crossword, a word search, a match-up sheet or cards. The free classroom tools also make bingo cards and math worksheets.

How can I check understanding without student devices?

Show a question on the board, let students answer on mini whiteboards or by raising hands, then reveal the answer together. Polls and exit tickets on the classroom screen count raised hands for you, and a printed quiz with an answer key gives you each student's work on paper.

Can students work together without devices?

Yes. In the team game, teams talk each question through before answering, and the group maker makes random teams. With a few tablets, “Groups on one device” lets each group answer together.

Is it free?

Yes. Every feature is free for teachers.
