Day plan

The Day plan widget shows a clear list of activities or steps for your lesson or school day, with the current step highlighted in real time. Students can easily see what’s happening now, what’s coming up next, and how much is left to do.

Teachers use the Day plan to keep lessons on track, help students manage transitions, and reduce questions about the schedule. It’s especially helpful for younger students, students with special needs, or any class that benefits from visual structure.

Ways teachers use it

  • Post your daily schedule for elementary students to follow throughout the day.
  • Show the steps of a science experiment so everyone knows what comes next.
  • Break down a writing assignment into clear, manageable parts.
  • Display your morning meeting agenda to start the day with structure.
  • Guide students through centers or stations, highlighting the current activity.

How to set it up

  1. 1Sign in to your teacher account on Edform.
  2. 2Open your classroom screen or create a new one.
  3. 3Click 'Add widget' and select 'Day plan' from the time category.
  4. 4Enter your steps or activities for the lesson or day, each on a separate line.
  5. 5Drag to reorder steps as needed. Set the current step to highlight it on the screen when teaching.

Tips

  • Keep each step short and simple so students can read it easily.
  • Update the current step as you move through the lesson to keep everyone on track.
  • Use color coding or icons for different types of activities (like group work or breaks).
  • Save your Day plan templates to reuse for recurring lessons or routines.
