Poll

The poll widget lets you ask your class a question and see their responses in real time. You can display multiple choice questions on your classroom screen, and students answer on their own phones or laptops by scanning a QR code or entering a code—no student accounts required.

Teachers use polls to check for understanding, gather opinions, or collect quick feedback at any point during a lesson. It’s a simple way to make every student’s voice heard, whether you’re running a morning meeting, wrapping up a lesson, or starting a class discussion.

Ways teachers use it

  • Start class with a morning meeting poll to check how students are feeling.
  • Use a poll as an exit ticket to see if students understood the lesson.
  • Get instant feedback on which topic to review next.
  • Let students vote on class activities or group work preferences.
  • Gather opinions during a class discussion to spark conversation.

How to set it up

  1. 1Add a new screen to your lesson set in Edform.
  2. 2Click the 'Poll' widget to add it to your screen.
  3. 3Type your question and add the answer choices.
  4. 4Choose if you want students to pick one or multiple answers.
  5. 5Project your screen. Students join by scanning the QR code or entering the code on their devices to vote.

Tips

  • Keep questions clear and answer options short.
  • Use polls for anonymous check-ins to encourage honest feedback.
  • Preview the poll before class to make sure it’s set up the way you want.
  • Remind students they don’t need an account to participate.
