Exit ticket for grades 6–8

Use this exit ticket template at the end of any lesson to help students reflect and share feedback. Students use their own devices to respond, making it easy to check understanding and gather ideas.

The class will see clear instructions, a quick self-assessment, and a word cloud where everyone adds what they learned. The screen is easy to present and works well with different backgrounds or as part of a set for your daily routine.

Free for teachers. Your screens, classes and uploads are saved to your account.

Why it works

  • Quick exit tickets give every student a voice, even quiet ones.
  • Instant feedback helps you adjust your next lesson and spot confusion.
  • Word clouds make class learning visible and encourage honest reflection.

Tips

  • Remind students responses are anonymous to encourage honesty.
  • Use sentence starters to help students reflect more deeply.
  • Set a two-minute timer to keep the activity focused and efficient.

Make it your own

  • Use for any subject—math, ELA, science, or social studies.
  • Works in-person, remote, or hybrid—students just need a device.
  • For special needs, read prompts aloud and allow verbal or typed answers.

How do I use this with students who don't have devices?

You can have students answer aloud, write on sticky notes, or pair up to share a device.
