Types of Sentences Statements give information. They express an idea. Statements end with a full stop Questions ask for information. They are used to find out information. Questions end with a question mark. Commands tell someone to do something. They are used to give instructions. Commands end with a full stop Exclamations give information (just like statements). They express strong emotion. Exclamations end with an exclamation mark. Cut and paste to organise each sentence under its correct heading.
