` NAME: TEACHER: ________________________________ _______________________________ YEAR AND SECTION: DATE: ________________________________ _______________________________ GRADE 7 – MUSIC QUARTER 1, WEEKS 4-6 DIFFERENT ART FORMS: ITS CHARACTERISTICS, COMMONALITIES AND DIFFERENCES BACKGROUND INFORMATION FOR LEARNERS Welcome back students! We may transmit our inner sentiments and creativity that lives just in our minds to the rest of the world through art. Art can take numerous forms, ranging from visual to performing arts. Many great civilizations and cultures are regarded as great because of their artistic achievements. The richness of a country's or civilization's art determines the power and culture of that country or civilization. Painting, sculpture, literature, architecture, music, dance, theater, photography, and film are all examples of art. Whatever sort of art we witness, it all has one thing in common: it is attractive to the eyes and ears. It conveys the artist's feelings and emotions, and it can be understood in a variety of ways by different people. Any kind of art, in essence, tells a narrative. It is an indirect, but meaningful, manner of contact with another human being. Most masterpieces in museums are silent evidence to the fact that art has the ability to deeply impact our souls. The arts, often known as fine arts, are forms of expression that involve the creation of appealing things, settings, or experiences that can be shared with others using talent or imagination.
