Mom had been preparing all week for the festivities. Tonight they will have brisket and latkes for supper. Then, at dusk, his family will say prayers and light the first candle on the menorah! All of the cousins will spin the dreidel and see who can win the most gelt. Some families use real coins; but, Aaron’s family plays for chocolate coins covered in gold foil. For dessert, each relative will get a jelly doughnut called a sufganiyot. Before they go home, Aaron’s family will exchange small gifts with each other.
