SET NOTATION

In math, a set is a collection of things, usually numbers. They are often represented by a Capital Letter, such as A, B or C.

Sets are often denoted by the curly brackets { }.

For example, the set of the first 5 odd numbers would be written with a capital letter and curly bracket, such that:

A= {1 , 3, 5, 7, 9}.
